Our School and our Community

The Friends of St Martin's PTA

St Martin’s School Parent-Teacher Association is formed of teachers, parents and friends of the school who give up their free time to help raise funds for our children.

All parents of children at the school are automatically members of the PTA and are welcome to join the committee.

Throughout the school year we organise a variety of fund raising and social activities, which include Carols by Starlight, the Summer fair, quizzes and discos. These activities have a dual purpose: to raise funds and to bring parents, children and staff together in a social atmosphere.

The full Committee meet once a month to organise all the different events and everyone is welcome at these meetings. We value whatever contribution you can make whether in terms of giving time, arranging company sponsorships or donating items to sell at our events. We are always open to suggestions for new social and fund-raising ideas.

If you would like to get involved please contact a member of the team on  st.martins.dorking.pta@gmail.com.

St Martin's Prayer Group

St Martin’s prayer group meets on the first Monday of each month, in the reception area of the school. They would LOVE you to join them.

St Martin's Church

St Martin’s Church is a shared Anglican-Methodist church in the centre of Dorking. The fine current building dates from late Victorian times but Christians have worshipped on the site for over 1000 years. We aim to be a place of spiritual refreshment at the heart of the town and, through the adjacent Christian Centre, we are very much a part of the practical life of the whole town community through the wide programme of activities taking place there. The Vicar, the Rev’d Derek Tighe, is on the School Governing Body and services involving the whole school take place in the church every term.
